Donation and Refund Policy

Effective Date: July 27, 2026
Last Updated: July 27, 2026

Thank you for supporting Lotus Worldwide Foundation. Your contribution helps us expand pathways between potential and opportunity through education, mentorship, partnerships, and thoughtful systems.

1. Charitable Status

Lotus Worldwide Foundation is recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

Our Employer Identification Number is EIN – 41-3470175.

Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax adviser regarding your individual circumstances.

2. Use of Donations

Unless a donation is expressly accepted by Lotus WWF as restricted for a particular purpose, donations will be treated as unrestricted and may be used wherever the Foundation determines the need is greatest in furtherance of its charitable mission.

Donations may support activities including:

  • Educational access and student support.
  • Learning materials and digital access.
  • Mentorship and opportunity-building initiatives.
  • Grants or support delivered through qualified partners.
  • Program development, monitoring, and impact reporting.
  • Safeguarding and responsible program administration.
  • Reasonable operational costs necessary to advance the Foundation’s mission.

A reference to a program, geography, beneficiary group, or campaign does not create a legally enforceable restriction unless Lotus WWF expressly accepts the restriction in writing.

3. Donation Receipts

Donors will generally receive an electronic acknowledgment or receipt using the contact information provided during the transaction.

The receipt may include:

  • Lotus WWF’s legal name.
  • Donation date.
  • Donation amount.
  • Confirmation of whether goods or services were provided.
  • Other information required by applicable law.

Please retain the acknowledgment for your records.

4. Goods or Services Provided to Donors

When a donor receives goods, services, event admission, merchandise, or another benefit in return for a payment, only the portion exceeding the fair-market value of that benefit may be deductible, subject to applicable law.

Lotus WWF will provide a good-faith estimate of the value of goods or services when required.

5. Recurring Donations

Recurring donations will continue at the selected frequency until cancelled.

To cancel a recurring donation, contact [email protected] or use the cancellation tools provided by the payment platform.

Requests should be submitted before the next scheduled processing date. Cancellation will not ordinarily reverse a payment already processed.

6. Refund Policy

Charitable donations are generally non-refundable.

We may approve a refund when:

  • The donation was submitted by mistake.
  • The amount was entered incorrectly.
  • A duplicate charge occurred.
  • The payment was unauthorized.
  • A technical or processing error occurred.
  • A refund is otherwise required by law.

Requests should be made within 30 days of the donation by emailing [email protected].

Please provide:

  • Donor name.
  • Email address used for the donation.
  • Donation date.
  • Donation amount.
  • Transaction or receipt number.
  • Reason for the refund request.

Approved refunds will generally be issued through the original payment method. Payment-provider and banking timelines may apply.

7. Restricted Donations

Lotus WWF may accept or decline proposed restrictions at its discretion.

A restriction is effective only when confirmed in writing by an authorized representative of Lotus WWF.

Lotus WWF will not accept restrictions that are unlawful, discriminatory, impracticable, inconsistent with its mission, harmful to beneficiaries, administratively unreasonable, or inconsistent with safeguarding and ethical standards.

If a restricted purpose becomes impossible, impracticable, fully funded, unlawful, or no longer charitable, Lotus WWF may contact the donor where appropriate or seek to redirect the funds to a substantially similar charitable purpose as permitted by law.

8. Campaign Goals and Excess Funds

Fundraising targets are goals and do not guarantee that a program will raise a particular amount or produce a particular outcome.

When a campaign raises more than the amount needed for the stated activity, excess unrestricted funds may be used for related programs, future initiatives, organizational capacity, or other mission-aligned purposes.

9. Non-Cash Donations

Lotus WWF does not assign a tax value to donated property.

The donor is responsible for determining the fair-market value of non-cash contributions and obtaining any appraisal, tax form, or professional advice required by law.

Acceptance of securities, equipment, vehicles, property, digital assets, or other non-cash contributions is subject to Lotus WWF’s prior approval and applicable gift-acceptance procedures.

10. Donation Processing

Payments may be processed by third-party providers. Processing fees, bank procedures, currency conversion, and platform terms may apply.

Where an optional platform fee or tip is presented by a payment provider, that amount may be paid to the provider rather than Lotus WWF. Donors should review the transaction summary before submitting payment.

11. Privacy

Donor information is handled in accordance with the Lotus WWF Privacy Policy.

We do not publicly identify donors without consent, except where legally required.
